Africa is fucked!

I know that with the current focus on Burma, Africa isnt getting the attention it deserves, but here are some facts we (norway) give 60 billion dollars a year in emergency and development aid to the African continent, not to bad considering we only have 4 million inhabitants. This sum is given every year.

Compare this annual expense with the total contribution we made to the marchall plan efter world war II a total of 375 million dollars, a mere pittns compared to the annual contribution to Africa.

In fact the total amount spent on WWII recovery totaled a little over 12 billion. Still å pittance compared to what only my tiny nation donates to africa each year.

I know some would argue that you cant compare money between now and then but even if you take the historic valuation into account we still donate more each year than what we gave to the marchall plan.

Dont get me wrong Norway is stinking rich so to us it doesnt make much difference, we have a investment fund wort over 3000 billion dollars, the largest in the world i think so our donation isnt something that really affects us.

Now our neighboring countries along with donors around the world have also donated their billions upon billions and we have actually been doing this for over 30 years.

Still the African continent is a complete quagmire.

People in Norway are starting to ask “what is the point of all this aid if the situation on the ground for ordinary people dont change?” lately there has been special attention on the Zimbabwe debacle, Robert mugabe Zimbabwe’s leader since independence, i think some 30 years ago, has totally destroyed this once prosperous country and reduced it to a poverty stricken pool of poverty and suffering.

For those of you who haven’t paid attention to zim you can read some current news here.

Now in norway the focus havent really been on the despotic cleptocrasy of robert mugabe but how his neighbours support him? one suggestion floated yesterday suggested suspending all aid to the entire continent until the zim issue is resolved.

When i first herd this i was initially appalled! this would punish innocent people as a result of national leaders supporting mugabe. after a while though i thought this might actually make more difference then what we do now, the african populace is suffering already and they will continue to do so until good governance becomes part of african political culture.

I now support complete suspension of all aid including emergency aid until Zimbabwes neighbor’s agree to address the zimbabwe issue.

the world championship in South africa 2010 will probably be boycotted by Norway as a further token of our disgust at their refusal to assist their neighbor

I know many will die and suffer but we have tried giving money and assistance and it didnt make any difference at all so we have to try something different, i say lets cut off all support and refuse to deal with them and any neighbor not condemning these grouse human rights violations until they adopt a more population friendly approach

Bush the end of happy days?

Now the US being a fundamental christian nation like it is, will soon have to pay the prise for its blind skillfully executed headlong faith-supported dive off the mountain of religious stupidity into the pool of poverty and ignorance.

During the religious far right bush administration all financial discipline has been tossed out the window replaced by a alcoholic retards insane rambling. The current US war effort, the insane private over consumption is fast catching up with the last remaining super power.

The American population will soon have to begin paying the price for electing a retarded religious lunatic for president, i bet the tune will radically change once the American populace realizes that this will severely impact their wallet.

I look forward to buying up American assets for pennies once the severity of the situation sinks inn.

Here is my prediction, Us markets will crash not only the commodities and financial instrument markets but the internal consumer market as well, the foundation of the US economy.

In short the end of the last super power as its seen today.

The apocalypse movie? kill me now! pleace!

If there ever was a movie that could give you cancer, this is it!

I started watching this movie yesterday and it immediately became clear that there probably wasn’t enough letters in the alphabet to accurately classify this movie. I am actually a bit at a loss, its so bad i can hardly bring myself to call it a movie. Its made by something called faith films and it has a imdb rating of 1.2/10 (249 votes). The rating is way to high in my opinion.

Its so bad it could only have been made by religious nuts, the synopsis for the film begins “In this epic disaster film of faith”. I think it is safe to say that never in the history of mankind has there been a bigger breach of the commandment “though shall not lie”

I think this movie will convert more people to atheism then any other event in human history, this is stupid gone wild! Any human will after seeing this tragedy, or part of it, want to distance themselves as far as possible from this sensory insult and anything that can be even remotely associated with it, such as faith.

So where schould i begin to describe this travesty? is it the shitty special effects? the lack of a plot line, the nonsensical dialog, the horribly bad acting? the cheesy misplaced sound effects? or the continual tirade of “believe in god” quotes?

Lets start with a quick look at the the piss poor special effects, so you can get a feel for what i am talking about. They look like they are made by a teenage crack addict, and they probably are.

I think this is supposed to be a meteor?

Or how about this great crater, ey?

The movie starts with some kids camping and you immediately know something is wrong, its the way they talk, a bunch of people sitting around a camp fire drinking beer will not say things like “mr senior science pants” its horrible,

One of the guys gets killed in the opening scene. I would call him the lucky one he isnt in the movie long enough to be associated with it and judging by the rest of the movie this probably saved his acting career. He gets hit in the chest by a meteor. Another gets his head taken off but for some reason there is no blood? this guy will probably never act again! or at least i hope not, even though the movie has been running for just over a minute all the remaining actors have demonstrated that they cannot act! at all!

That brings me to the sound effects, the sound effects are to loud, so loud that they often drown out the dialogs, not that it matters the dialogs are crap anyway. For example, they are watching news on the tv about the meteor strike.

Girls 1: what is going on i dont understand? Girl 2: is it some terrorists setting off a bomb or something? Girl 3: its a “meatier” you guys! (what the fuck? a meatier?)

Now picture this dialog as if presented by a fift grade boy forced to read poetry out loud in front of his class, its horrible.

Talking about the actors, i think some of them are mongoloid? i know this is a low, low, low,low,low,,,,,,, budget production, but dang! Do you have to hire retards?????? that cant even speak understandable English???.

Does this person look normal to you, would you hire this for a lead role in your film?

Anyway the movie is about god and the end of the world and like the plot it is also nonsensical on a biblical scale! lets take the scene where they look at the house ( the crater above) while they talk, a supposed meteor crashes into a nearby town wiping it off the map, yet the two people looking at the house dont hear anything at all, there isn’t a tremor or anything. Yet they get in their car, drive around the corner and voila there it is a great gaping (looks sort of like a) crater a mile across.

Its not just the lack of sound effects that is striking, its also the sound effects that don’t fit at all, for example the retard woman and a guy sit in a car and talk (you can hardly make out the words over the sound effects) In this case it is the sound of the cars window vipers, never mind the fact that they are off and not moving at all.

Or the scene where they go out into the falling ash and the howling (sounds like a hurricane) wind somehow fails to perturb a single flake of gently falling fluff!

Another storm sound scene with lightning and all doesn’t move a single hear on the actors sculpted hair, and in the same scene as they cross over the threshold and into the house the sun shines through the window ( the same storm sounds in the background though, howling wind, thunder etc).

As you can see this movie is as contradictory and nonsensical as the bible, after 10 minutes i couldn’t watch it anymore, the novelty of complete nonsense and bad acting had worn off, luckily i didnt pay to see this movie, i downloaded it off the www.piratebay.org had i paid for it i would be forced to hurt someone.

I would be happy to face real armageddon to get the 10 minutes back that i wasted on this joke.

Making Christians cry!

I ended up in a discussion today with a guy that professed to be christian, i didn’t know the guy he just sat down next to me on the subway and started chatting. Not before long we for some reason ended up talking about the CNN special Gods Warriors, excellent show by the way. The discussion soon evolved into a totally surreal experience.

After a few sentences we soon stranded on the extreme improbability, and stupidity of religious faith. To begin with he valiantly defended his faith, “it was tradition”, “believing in god was different”, bla, bla, bla, he was quite composed until i posed the following question to him.

What is the difference between believing in fairies and believing in religion?

The discussion then went like this.

Me: What is the difference between believing in fairies and believing in religion?

He: It cant be compared its not the same?

Me: What is the difference?

He: It cant be compared its not the same?

Me: Then what is the difference?

He: Eeehh its not????

Me: What is the difference?

He: Believing in god and fairies is two different things?

Me: How is it different?

He: It just is! (starting to sound desperate)

Me: Then what is it?

He: Eeehhheheeee… its historic?

Me: So are fairies, What is the difference!

He: Eeehhehh i cant,,,,,?

Me: If you believe in god why dont you believe in fairies, they are just as probable as your sky daddy?

He: ! eh,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,?

Me: Why do you believe in god and not fairies, unicorns or pixies for that matter?

He: eeh sob…!.

Me: What!!!!! are you crying?

He: whuuuhuuu (tears flowing)

Me: Hey man! pull your self together, what the fuck is your problem!?

He: (crying like a baby)

—– At this point im feeling a bit uncomfortable, i am thinking schould i just leave him? slap him? comfort him?

Me: Why are you crying! What?

He: I dont believe in god! but my wife is religious! i am afraid she will leave me if i tell her!!!!!! (sob)

Me: Maybe she feels like you do?

He: You think????? (SOB!)

Me: How the fuck schould i know? I dont know your wife? But who knows? I mean you are obviously unhappy! Its up to you. I would tell my wife! she used to be muslim now she is not and we are a lot happier, we can relate to each other as people, we don’t have to follow any of that religious bullshit. —- But you make up your own i mind i don’t know you or your wife.

He: Thank you i will have to think about it,,,,?

Me: Good luck im sure you will be able to make a good choice, just use the brain nature provided for you, its designed for relations you know. !

He: (weak smile shiny tear filled eyes) Tank you, Thank you…..

Me: Anyway i got to go, good luck!

I got off before my stop this guy was getting to me, i should have told him to go to a shrink, he was obviously off balance. Religion continues to surprise me with the boundless misery it holds.

Religious freaks 10 years on!

I was born in a little religious shit-hole in Norway it has a paper factory and some pubs (not much else) and depending on the wind direction half the city always smells like someone just let of the fart of the century. (cellulose factories stink)

In short it is and smells like the as end of the universe! The kind of place that if a nuclear device where set off there the noise of the applause would resonate across the world.

Most people are religious and during my childhood i had a lot of fun pointing out how incredibly stupid religion is, I made many a parent cry when their pride and joy one day came home to profess they no longer believed in god. In short I had a lot of fun.

I recently re-visited the dump for a school reunion, and the first thing I did on arrival was to visit the police station to see how many coppers where left that frequently arrested me for:

A: Being drunk
B: Drinking in a public place
C: Looking suspicious
D: Making rude gestures
E: Being out late probably, up to something.
F: Jaywalking
G: Swimming naked
H: Fishing after 18:00
I: Walking to fast in one direction
J: Being in a public place with an offensive hair due
K: Watching a robbery at the local bank
L: Watching a window get broken at the local store
M: Sitting in a chair on the school lawn
N: Arguing when harassed by police
O: Chewing gum on the bus
P: Spilling coca cola close to a police vehicle

I could go on with more facts from my arrest record but you get the drift, I was popular with the cops they tried relentlessly, and failed, for nearly a decade to break me. Anyway only 3 of the coppers I used to annoy where still there, the rest had been dismissed for inappropriate use of resources (no shit Einstein) or unnecessary use of force (nothing new there).

Surprisingly enough only one of them where happy to see me?

The other two where down right hostile and immediately started with their old, what are you doing here? Where were you yesterday? Where were you the day before that?

I cut them short by letting them know that I can afford excellent lawyers nowadays.

In the evening when I arrived at the reunion I got more and more pissed off, who the fuck where these people? Here I leave for only 10 years and everyone has turned into complete losers??? What the fuck!

The most sexy girl in school before I left had quadrupled her body mass I even failed to identify her as female!

The ultra religious class geek that everyone had such high hopes for was totally wasted on heroin and he begged me for money for more blow?

This is the way it went! Every single fucker had some major problem and the people that where angels in school where the worst of the lot, they snorted lines in the bathroom, where unemployed and general losers.

The highest position any of them had was a secretary job! A quick calculation established that in only the week before the reunion I made more money than the top earner there earned the entire previous year!

All the religious freaks where confused with their life distraught and miserable. They could only be described as victims of life, even though they had sheltered religious childhoods they where all miserable losers.

The one person, me, that everyone said would never amount to anything! the one person they always blamed everything on! (loads of kids where actually forbidden from even talking to me) was the only person with a happy productive life.

Seeing my childhood friends back broken whipped and down under the oppressive boot of religion was quite sad, it galvanized me to step up my criticism of all things religious.

Religion is an affront to humanity, it really schould be forbidden.

Diagnosing religion?

I spend quite a lot of time studying religion, religious people, their behavior and doctrine. It seams to me that religious and atheists can be classified in part by their ability to see through their own bias, as well as their ability to deal more objectively with probabilities. In short atheists tend to have a better grasp on reality as a whole, with a broader perspective and they are better at critical thinking. Atheists are also better suited to deal with and succeed in life.

If this makes Atheists happier is of course a different matter, i wont go to much into that today but I think so. We can save that discussion to a later post.

In this post I will simply put forward a tiny tiny selection of some of the fallacies, biases and omissions, etc that the religious mind seams to cling to.

Major factors that influence the religious mind. What causes their cognitive distortion, etc.

Religious people are generally band wagon people, they have the tendency to believe things because many other people believe the same. This herd behavior seams almost manic, i think it is often because they are born in a religious home and breaking away results in the loss of established social networks. The fear of such a loss seams to override the willingness to refute or go against the establishment in fear of loosing status, influence or social contact. Even if the established doctrine if refuted or disproved beyond any reasonable doubt, they still wont go against it.

In addition all believers seam to have a serious focus on searching for and interpreting information in a way that confirms their preconceptions. Believers also seam to enhance or diminish the weight or importance of a measurement if it contrast with their pre-determined conclusion. They also tend to look at tings exclusively from the established point of view, flat out rejecting any new or broader ideas.

This bias of placing to much importance on a single point of view naturally results in a distorted inability to rationally react to the realities of life and to accept one owns and others strengths, personality traits and weaknesses. A sort of distorted view of the world if you will. Example: parents who dis communicate their children for leaving the church etc. (imagine how mentally ill you have to be to override your natural instinct to care for and love your kids)

This same narrow immovable pre-determined approach dictates the rhetoric used and can explain their inability to carry reasonable arguments on most topics. The sad end result has a detrimental effect on the entire society, since the religious faction (even if they have good intentions and ideals) fail to either deliver the message or they are so restricted by their own contradictory claims that the end result is utterly confusing and flawed.

Example: Religious people will happily go though volumes of scientific literature looking desperately for some imaginary flaw, and still they have no problems blindly believing an inconsistent self contradictory document aparently authored by ignorant subsistance farmers living in tents thousands of years ago.

The notion in itself is ridicilous: ask yourself this who would you believe?

A: The findings of my pears living in modern times that can be tested and verified by anyone including myself?

OR

B: Some un verifiable fairytale from thousands of years ago that makes no sense, is totally improbable and contradicts itself on every page?

(if you answer B you are probably religious)

I have wondered many times if peoples attraction to religion is the illusion of control? Sort of a comfort blanket, when things are out of the individuals control it could be consoling to believe that someone else, that can be trusted are in control. Or maybe its just a result of peoples tendency to express undue liking for things merely because they are familiar with them? Or Perhaps the concept of uncertainty is uncomfortable to many people.

It certainly seams like these weaknesses plays a part since most religious people judge harmful actions as worse, or less moral, than equally harmful omissions (inactions).

Example: grown ups children, in fact entire families in irak are daily put down like weeds yet noone lifts a finger, but if a doctor performs an abortion Americans line up around the block with posters? Go figure?

Religious people also seam overly fond of the status quo, for example one of the things i hear often as an argument from Muslims is that the koran is still in its original form, this is totally ridiculous or course, but that is besides the point really, the question is: Who wants to stay static? isn’t the progress we have made to date, due to the fact that we have exchanged the old with the better?

In broad terms religious peoples actual interests usually differ from what they believe to be their interests yet religious people fail continually to realize the irrationality of their actions and beliefs and believe they are acting perfectly rational. There might be some major flaws in their reasoning?

I have talked to a lot of religious people who people find themselves in a condition of living “double” lives. They try to put on one “mask” for one group of people and another for a different group of people. Many are truly confused as to which they really are or which they wish to become. It has terrible detrimental effects on the quality of their lives.

I say that religious delusions schould be recognized as the mental disorder that it is! Why schould these poor people not be able to treat their clearly irrational behavior?

Islams brutal nature

Well once again we have bin laddie on some video spouting his crapp. As we are now getting used to this deranged religious lunatic pops up in letter, video or audio form with some garbage message every year or so.

This newest is interesting though, because he rolls up Islams main message in a few simple phrases.

“Convert to Islam or i we kill you, or at least try to, for  as long as we live.

Anyone that have really read the Koran and the other Islamic holy texts, shouldn’t be surprised of course, this is, after all the religion of blood, guts, opression and murder.

What is surprising is that anyone, apart from total basket cases like binnie, would want to be associated with this travesty of a religion?

Not really surprising though after all Islam is founded by an insane, pedophile, mass murderer, so my question becomes? why would anyone want to be associated with that? why would anyone label their children with a belief that will give their child nothing but grief?

I guess Muslims are just cruel, cruel to their fellow humans and especially cruel to their own children.

In light of president Bushes resent attempt to seam like he was trying to give a shit.

Watching this poor excuse of a man, spit his usual bull, i remembered this documentary that aired back in 2003.

As you can see Bush is still full of shit, he is pretty mush making things up on the run and he makes the same claims now as he did then.

The war in irak and afganistan as well as the continual conflict in the wider middle east is a prime example of what happens when all sides use and claim god is on their side.
