Islam could have been an ideal religion, they do not have an idol which needs to be tended to, unlike Hinduism or Christianity, where a fulltime priest is required to tend to the Idol. All they need is a mosque a building which can be tended to by a care taker, for repair and maintenance work.

To Make the koran compatible with contemporary society and its inhabitants one has to follow a 8 or 10 pronged approach
1) Mullahs who should be either educated and be given life skills (Which is very difficult, who would bear the costs?) or killed, like we kill pests.
2) The koran should be translated in all major languages of the world reducing people’s dependance on the original arabic text which is quoted to mislead both mislims and Non muslims alike.
3) Muslims should be desensitised about the koran and allah, that would stop them from flaring up everytime someone says something about the prophet or allah.
4) English should create new words that sound similar allah and prophet but are spelt differently like prafet and alaah and koren. Which could be added to the english dictionary and could mean things like Dog and Pig and carpet, this would also serve to desensitise the muslims. for example

Instead of saying my dog peed on the carpet, I could say ” I was expecting guests and had cleaned up the living room , but my alaah (Dog) peed on my persian koren (Carpet), and I had to clean up again.
5) The concept of the Ummah should be broken, that way instances of riots breaking out in Indonesia over an incident in Egypt can be stopped forever.
6) The western world should stop allowing construction work on new mosques.
7) Work places should stop giving muslim employees special status (special prayer times multiple times on fridays etc)
restaurants in the western world should stop serving halal food (If they want halal food, they can prepare it at home)

The muslims need to be saved from islam.

Muhammad posed as an apostle of God. Yet his life is filled with lustfulness (12 marriages and sex with a child, slaves and concubines), rapes, warfare, conquests, and unmerciful butcheries. What Muhammad produced in the Qur’an is simply a book of gibberish consisting of later evil verses abrogating (superseding) earlier peaceful verses. These verses in Arabic poetically “tickle” the ears of Arab listeners. Islam is a caustic blend of paganism and twisted Bible stories. Muhammad, its lone “prophet”, who made no prophecies, conceived his religion to satiate his lust for power, sex, and money. He was a terrorist.

Seriously, now cultural curiosities away, was there ever a religion that made peoples lives better?
The only things that comes to mind are small practical things, like with ancient shamanistic religions, where the shaman/medicine man or whatever he/she was called used to be the most knowlegable person in the tribe, who, beside the mysticized superstition, was actually useful passing down basic knowledge.
Or things like how cats were sacred in egypt, wich had a wery practical reason, cats killed vermin wich were spreading disease. Customs wich didnt seem to make sense at the time for most people, but some knew better, so they coated it with supernatural stories.

This may have made sense in the beginning of our civilisation.

Today i see no reason to continue witch such practices. As you have agreed, we live in the 21th century now. If we are unable to explain our way of life, ethical behavior, and the workings of the world with logic, reason. If instead we have to use handwawed makebelieve stories of vengeful invisible man in the sky who strike you down if you dont wipe your butt or wash your teeth, then i have to ask, by what right do we call ourselves “intelligent”?

Wich doesnt means i think we should ultimetly get rid of all religion. You might be suprised when i tell this, but i dont even think we should just throw it all away, heck i even admire certain parts of certain religions. Religions have helped build communities, inspired various forms of arts, had a great impact on our culture, our way of life, or simply entertained us.

But when one or more takes itself too serious, declares a monopoly on truth, and starts going around killing people, and destroying evry piece of mentioned culture, arts and ideas that doesnt fits its own wiews is when i get angry about them.

And as for making people “better”. Not going to happen. This is a goal may a religion, ruler, ideology and whatnot tried to accomplish. And evry one of them failed! Yes, your religion too, in fact your religion failed so hard at it, that one might argue that it actually made matters worst! Same for Islam.

I have my own questions about Christianity. As I find fault with other religions, I am not one who says my religion is flawless. You must have noticed that by now. The debate here though was about which one is really bad for us at this point in time? The answer is clearly known to all. The debate here is also not if religion should be done away with. Because, it is next to impossible to do away with religion totally in one go.The point is if there was a religion which if done away with would make the world a better place,which one would it be? Well to be fair Islam has not been around as long as most other religions. The time around Christanity was this old as Islam is now, it was just as bad. Wich is no exuse for Islams nature either, we live in the 21th century, anybody following the barbaric ethical standards and outdated social system of some iron age tribals deserves only scorn and mockery.

Yess i know how muslims believe that Islam is supposed to be the “original religion” that resurfaced, while Judaism and Christanity are deviations of it. Well no matter how many times they claim that it wont make it true. Islam is not islam without the Koran and the teachings of Mohammed, therefore Islam was founded by Mohammed, period.

The claim that the oher abrahamic religions are the deviations of Islam is just as ridiculous as the claim of certain christians that pagan politheistic religions toke ideas from some kind of “early christianity” when it is pointed out that the story of Jesus and their customs are suspiciously similar to pagan stories and customs.

Good to see you back and finally see you admitting that actually, Islam is more dangerous than any other religion. This is not to say that Christians do not create problems. They do but like you say the violence that could be perpetrated by crazy Christians was neutralized to a very large extent by reformation. I am not saying that Christianity does not have problems. It does but even if Christianity still continued to exist,it would not be one tenth of the problem Islam is and will be. The bottom-line is that Islam and Christianity have been around long enough but yet Christianity was watered down in a way but Islam is still the same. How was that with the Danish caricatures about Mohammed? In September 2005 the Jyllands-Posten, a Danish newspaper brought out 12 caricatures about Mohammed. What came after is history. The reaction os Moslems started with Egyptian refugees who were taken in, and given their own temple in Denmark. These malicious refugees went to Egypt at end of 2005 with copies of the caricatures, 15 pictures, and writing with false accusations about supposed persecution of Muslims in Denmark, and started distributing them. Wait, didnt i say there were 12 caricatures? But they were bringing 15 pictures, no i didnt make a mistake. These Muslims added 3 more pictures, much more outrageous ones as the ones in the newspaper.

What happened after? Long story short, the violence in the Islamic countries toped after five months. Embassies were burned, western tourists thretened and assaulted, Pakistani and Idonesian rioters were burning Danish flags (Where did they get them one might ask.), in Nigeria locals were killed becouse they happened to be Christians, and churches were burned.

A particularry interesting part is how Muslems all ower the world demanded an apology from the government of Denmark, wich would seem strange, seeing how the Jyllands-Posten was NOT A NEWSPAPER RUN BY THE GOVERNMENT! One important part to understand is that a muslem growing up an an Islamic country would have a hard time grasping the notion of free press. Islam, by its nature and its rules is calling for a fundamentalist regime. Sharia law is incompatible with freedom of speech, or equality under the law.

Now to be fair, most muslems are simply ignorant people who were brainwashed as children, just like its the case with most other religions, what makes it dangerous is that as while as an abrahamic religion it has the same hateful message and black and white worldview as christanity and Judaism, but unlike these two – Judaism being largly impotent due its tribalist limitations, and Christanity being watered down thanks to the reformation. – Islam is actually taken seriously by its followers, who are large enough in numbers to make quite a noise.
The behavior and overreaction (Not to mention their lies.) of these people illuminates Islams violent nature admirably.

I mean, come on. Caricatures wich were not even meant to be taken seriously, and moslems killed people who had nothing to do with it because of this. I have only one word for this.
