Responce to “Response to ‘Why I hate religion!’”

Anyway this dialog is developing into a disorganized confusing blurb. Now spread over, i don’t know how many blog’s, and the main topic has deviated into a number of sub topics.  Topics as diverse as the forum systems on wordpress, to how we technically divide the different belief systems from the lifestyle beliefs such as Buddhism, confusion ism, Hinduism yadida , etc.

In my post i wrongfully assumed that Syd had been able to follow the dialog and posts from the beginning to the current point where our counter arguments currently circulate.

In earlier posts i have clarified that when i talk about mainstream religions i mean Christianity, Islam and the Jewish faith, their beliefs are monotheistic and promote a personal god, there are of course hundreds of deviations of these base religions and they are all generally crap. By the way i have studied religion in depth.

The other belief branch are the “personal lifestyle choice” belief systems, they differ in that the individual person is responsible for their life, they have to account for their own choices etc, contrary to the before mentioned branch that puts this responsibility with sky daddy and reduces the individual enrolled in the particular religion to a mere Muppet.

Choosing to live you life a certain way because you know you are responsible for your choices, is extremely far removed from living your life as commanded by god. Thus your argument that you could also consider the mainstream religions as lifestyle choices are so meaningless it doesn’t really deserve a proper answer.

i myself have worked in 62 countries, and i usually talk to 5-10 different people through my work every day. I have been in this field for 13 years, (you do the math) so you see i have more than adequate coverage to stand by and back up my statements. Mainstream religion is fundamentally flawed! Self contradicting, and totally unrealistic! In short its mass superstition and i think its only right to point this out!

If a person walks around, and is proud of how incredibly stupid and superstitious they are! I will call that person, be it you or anyone else, a fucking stupid moron!

If that person understands their stupidity, and comes to their senses, they can thank me for it later.

If not, good luck with the stupid self deception i hope they don’t reproduce and hand down the stupidity to the next generation.

Lets look at one of your counter arguments.

(Escapedmentalpatient is of the view that I am arguing against him or her on their view of religion. That’s bullshit. What I take offence to escapedmentalpatient is the fact that he or she is demonstrating the same ignorance that ‘fundamentalists’ have. Also, escapedmentalpatient tries to use simple analogies to make broad statements look true through a deducing logic. Here’s what he or said in their post:

Well analogies and deducing logic clarifies the issue? what is your point? that you point out that i use an analogy doesn’t make it any less valid? I could just as well use an example from real life:

Should we allow parents to denie blood transfusions to their children? every year, children die needlessly in the hospital because of their parents belief!

No matter how you look at it mind numbingly stupid!!!!!

Now can you please answer the following 3 questions instead of trying to find meaningless contradiction in sound arguments.

1. Would you describe a person that believes in trolls as reasonable and intelligent?

2. Why should we respect such a belief?

3. What is the difference between believing in trolls and believing in god as defined by the mainstream religions.

Why i hate religion!

Now i did an article on freedom without religion a while back, this has sparked other posts Sydspace and Sathfilms their responses are to long to be practical in the comments thread.

I appreciate their comments and i would like to clarify some issues.

I start with Syd: I still claim that mainstream religious doctrine ask you to blindly follow whatever the holy book says without any proof at all…this goes for Buddhism as well but you, if i read you right, comitt the error of comparing all religions as if they should be weighed as equals in my statement. In such a case you are quite right in separating Buddhism from the other mainstream religions. In fact i don’t see Buddhism as an actual religion more like a lifestyle choice comparable with opting to be a vegetarian. Buddhism is focused on the individual not on some all powerful omnipotent sky daddy.

Furthermore your post contains some glaring statements please allow me to quote a few lines

if i read this right you actually mean to say that when a suicide bomber blows himself up that he doesn’t justify indiscriminate murder and suicide from the Koran? the koran that proscribe, even glorify and promises rewards for such actions?

“Mind you, I admire atheists, as I admire anyone who has the courage to be proud in what their beliefs are. ” Just a technicality, but atheist don’t have any faith we don’t believe in anything superstitious, we don’t believe without proof.

I am tempted to ask how would you know or judge my abilities, knowledge or experience in regards to this subject? I would have you know that my expertise related to this field is extensive.

Why do you get angry? if i told you, you have made some error or misunderstood something or that you are in some way in error on any other topic, would you be angry? wouldn’t you thank me?

If you believed you had to turn right to go to a, lets say shopping mall and i told you that that was wrong you had to go left, would you be pissed off?

Actually i think this is one of the main reasons for me to hate religion or any other beliefs in some form of god. Because only such belief can turn ordinarily reasonable and intelligent people into people inapproachable in dialog.

believing in something without proof is stupid no matter how you angle it, especially when we know how powerful a motivator belief is, imagine if i told you “don’t look behind you there is a guy pointing a gun at you” if you believed me imagine how you would react and feel?

Belief is a really powerful motivator! we schould not organise our lives or build our view of the world on things that have no shred of evidence or realism attached to it.

If we do we effectively freeze ourselves and our capacity to think and deal with the world in the instance we convince ourselves “there must be some god” what is the purpose of continuing to study ourselves or the universe? haven’t we effectively destroyed the foundation for our own curiosity?

I recently went to the local mosk to free religious idiots from religious dogmatism and superstition.

Now i was taken with how much these people believed in dying and murdering, life in fact seamed secondary on their priorities.

Anyway i have up until today i have managed to free 19 people from religious dogmatism and superstition, a number i hope to bring over 100 by the end of the year.

Selfish religious idiots!

I was wondering? All of you who are so deranged that you actually believe in a personal god.

Have you ever paused to think about this? If there was such a being, one powerful enough to create the entire universe, time itself…

Why would he give a fuck what you think or do? how egosentric and self absorbed do you have to be to think that such a creature would prioritize you! Next to say…. a super nova that will seed the cosmos with matter for new solar systems?.

And why the fuck, would he favor your interpretation of distorted iron age literature?

Frankly i find the entire concept hypocritical, firstly living under constant omnipotent supervision would be horrible. It would be worse than living in Burma or north Korea.

In fact the ultimate hypocrisy is how Christians often use this as an argument, “but how will people be nice and good without god?” Listen pal! if your only reason for being good is that you believe sky daddy is constantly looking over your shoulder, you are not a nice person at all! As anyone can see (apart from religious idiots) that its stupid religion, dumb as fuck! I dare any Christian or religious person to do the following:

Take any page in your holy book, exchange the word “god” with “poseidon.

What if we where all idiots?

What would happen if we where just slightly more stupid?

I often get the argument from religious idiots that human beings need religion, this is of course rubbish, we dont need religion any more than we need unicorns or pixies.

i think it was sam harris who put forward this example, i will re use it since it clearly illustrates how stupid this claim is.

Let say we where just a smitget dumber than the average religious moron, lets say we lost all our skills, no language no ability to operate machinery.

What skills would we need to re learn first? speech? probably we needed to develop the ability to feed ourselves hunting etc? what about learning to operate machinery? written language? medicine?

Where the fuck do you think it will become essential for us to learn that Jesus was born from a virgin? would we have to drop by the other gods in history as well? Poseidon? Aphrodite? Thor?

Religion is stupid, religious people are stupid, complete idiots in fact…. i think the worst part is that we allow these fucks to bring up their children in their own stupid superstitions, its child abuse its horrid and cruel.

Passion! freedom and sex!

I recently came across this blogg Tired of these Arguments… « Fermi Paradox

I hadn’t really considered it since as an atheist, a description that shouldn’t exist, i mean there is for example no such thing as an un-carpenter or un-cook etc.

Anyway, i digress, i have never really though about it since i don’t spend any time at all, feeling or thinking that i am missing anything!

I don’t miss God any more than i miss unicorns or any other superstition for that matter.

I spent quite a few hours pondering what it is religious twits have that i don’t have?……

But then it struck me, i had it all wrong! In reality its totally the opposite! I have something they don’t have!

I wake up every morning feeling charged and bubbling with energy, ready to tackle the day.

I know i am free to choose whatever i want! I know that i am responsible for my own life and I know that I can do whatever i want with it!

I can have sex whenever i want without guilt, i can swear, i can voice my opinion, and exercise free will without being influenced by any form of superstitious sky daddy. (“sky daddy” expression courtesy of Fermi)

In short i am in charge, command and control of Me! independent happy and free!

Religious idiots that i know have quite the opposite life experience, they are pawns, subjects and Dependants of God. God rules their day, it rules their opinion and their choices.

In short they are Dependant victims! and not happy or free!

While putting this theory to the test other subtle differences quickly surfaced, the religious twits often used descriptions like “this happened to me”, “i was exposed to that”, “all of a sudden this went wrong, and i suffered”. (usually followed by a resigned, “god works in mysterious ways”)

It struck me how they feel victimized! like they don’t have any control or say in their own life.

It struck me that i never experience the world this way. Sure i get into situations as well, the difference is i dont accept them! i do something about it, and it doesn’t cost me anything, i expect problems here and there and i am ready to deal with them, i never even pause for a microsecond to consider myself as a victim! it never enters my mind.

I’m not only talking about major life crises here im talking about tiny little things as well.

Yesterday i was talking to a religious twit that works in my building about tax returns, he was complaining that he didn’t get anything back since they didn’t accept his request for deduction for childcare, and that he probably wouldn’t be able to take a holiday this year since he didn’t get a tax refund.

I couldn’t believe what he was saying. I to was initially rejected for this deduction, the difference is i didn’t accept it out of hand, i called them and after 10 minutes on the phone i got it deducted anyway!

It is frightening how passive religious people are, i guess it comes from this dogma that you shouldn’t question your belief or anything in the bible, etc. Anyway the result is passive morons that go through life as victims, they never get to experience the passion, the excitement, the immense joy, gratitude and sense of satisfaction i experience from going through life with my eyes open!

It also struck me that our failure, Us atheists i mean, our failure is to communicate just how extreamly wonderful life is when you are free and in control, i think our failure to effectively communicate this is preventing people from abandoning their superstitions, i think many of them are afraid that life as a free thinking individual will be somehow less than life with superstition, when in fact it is quite the opposite!

Life as a free thinking independent person is wonderful beyond description! Knowing that i am responsible for me, and that i have to stand by my own choices, fills me with satisfaction and joy and at the same time it pushes me forward to grab each day by the balls and live it to the absolute limits of my abilities!

I know i am more alive and grateful for being alive on any given single day than most of the religious twits i know are in their entire lives!

Atheists! lets continue bashing religious idiots over their heads with their stupidity and their superstitions! But lets not forget, to also communicate with the same vigor and enthusiasm that life! free of faith and superstition is a thousand times more wonderful than any religious comparison.

I have long argued that it takes a special kind of idiot to believe in a religion! And that such people should be prevented from reproducing.

I recently had a fiery discussion outside a church where i went to convert people away from stupidity and superstition.

I often go to mosks, churches, and other idiot congregations to try to save people and the next generation from stupid superstition. You know this crap about god, jesus, allah, and last but not least that warmongering fucker, mu hammed.

What strikes me is how violent religious people are? within 5 minutes i was receiving death threats, these fizzled out of course when i asked what sort of omnipotent, all seeing, all knowing, all powerful God! needed such a defense? at least from little old me? an unbeliever? and wasn’t murder sort of one of the major sins?

Ordinary people threatening to commit murder for a mere difference of opinion can only happen when religious people are involved.

Usually the religious peoples arguments fall into 3 stupid categories. 1 God is different 2. Because so many believe it must be true 3. what about XYZ

1. God is different

If you believe in god, why not unicorns? fairies? goblins? aren’t they to mythical magical superpower creatures? they are just as much superstition and no more probable or real than that God you believe in?

Of course i didn’t get any good replies, they all shuffled their feet and replied along the lines “ehh god is different its not the same, what you talk about is superstition….” ( religious people always seam offended or irritated when i force them to use their brains to confront their own moronic superstitions, if god is real why the gloomy face? )

This is why religious people piss me off and why their stupid superstitions should be debunked, confronted and decried at every opportunity, its so typical for a religious idiot to fall back on “its different” without ever presenting any proof or even theories as to why their god beleif is different from believing in unicorns.

2. Because so many believe it must be true

Sooner or later in a discussion with religious idiots, you get this argument “people all over the world believe in God! Since so many people believe in it, it must be true!

How stupid are you people? don’t you ever think??? 100 years ago people people all over, believed trolls, it didn’t mean they where real.

That people by nature, are superstitious doesn’t mean that your superstitions are true!

In fact its not hard to think of several theories why superstition would be good for survival as we evolved, hungry predators could hide in the shadows and we where not always at the top of the food chain, if you are skittish and nervous and ready to run or fight you have a better chance of surviving.

3. what about XYZ

I hear this argument or versions of it all the time, yesterday the version was “what about love?”

What about it? what proof do you have that binds love with religion in any way? i cant think of any reason or even probability that our ability to feel love would be conditioned by some text in a book or a fictional mythical creature.

In fact in evolutionary terms love makes perfect sense, we as a species are dependent on family/group relationship to survive, if we didn’t feel this sort of attraction, we wouldn’t mate, we wouldn’t care for our young, and we wouldn’t defend each other against external threats.

Religion is stupid superstition it traumatizes generation after generation, its dangerous (Salem anyone) stupid and hinders human progress, if it hadnt been for free thinking atheists rejecting stupification by repressive religion we would never develop beyond the middle ages. Iran, Taliban, israel and other variations of repressive violent stupid societies would be the norm.

Religion is stupid and dangerous all mass murderers, cults and suicide bombers couldn’t exist without religion to hide behind. If these people where forced to take responsibility for their own lives they would never do what they do.

Free thought and a rejection of stupid ancient superstition is the only way to survive as a species, join the part of the world population that use their brain.

Ultra idiots (religious people)

I am continually baffled by just how incredibly stupid you have to be to follow any religion like Islam or Christianity.

I mean do these people actually fire two brain cells simultaneously during their entire mongoloid life?

In this entire idiot category the people calling themselves moderate (insert moronic religion here) deserve special attention, what the hell does that mean anyway moderate (insert moronic religion here)?

The rules of religion in itself is usually very clear, follow whatever religious holy book that is the basis of whatever religion you adhere to, or burn in hell forever.

This is where the moderate stupidity fully blooms, for example if we where to follow the bible we would still have the Spanish inquisition, we would stone gays, divorced people, atheists etc.

Moderate don’t adhere to these values, so what the fuck are they doing? They sort of follow the bible? They sort of believe it’s the word of god? They maybe believe there was some bloke named jesus?

Everyone Calling them self a moderate (insert moronic relgion here) therefor instantly categorize themselves as someone that would be mentally challenged by a dead goldfish.

I really really hate these idiots, they stupefy the human race, and should be prevented from ever reproducing, lets get these idiots out of the gene pool, they are so far into minus on the Iq scale that they must be considered dangerous for the human race. We don’t let mongoloids reproduce do we? So why do we let these mentally deficient morons do it?
